Barnoldswick Junction

There are four bridges extant over or under the former Colne to Skipton railway trackbed over the short distance from the east end of Earby to Kelbrook. When heading south from Earby through Sough the Earby Beck runs under the A56 Colne Road at Sough Bridge. It then, along with an access track, runs under a substantial steel decked bridge, as seen in this view looking westwards in March 2019. What appears to be a large diameter gas or water main can be seen running onto the trackbed at left side of the bridge and this runs for a distance north towards Earby. This would have to be relocated to allow the line to be re-opened.
