Bricked up tunnel on a hillside in Gorebridge in 2016. The tunnel once carried a cable hauled tramway, while the hillside itself was formed from spoil produced by many years of mining operations. The reason for the tramway was the creation of a second spoil tip (or bing) to the south of here (behind camera) on the other side of a colliery access road. The spoil tipper ran through this tunnel, then crossed the road on a bridge see image 61770, before climbing to reach the tipping point on the south bing.
