Millerhill Yard Down Secondary Sorting Sidings
A September evening at Millerhill Yard in 1995. View is south over the abandoned down yard which by this time was completely overgrown. Over on the left a freight can just be made out heading south through the gloom, while in the right background stand the towers of Monktonhall Colliery. The last of the towers was demolished in February 1998, a year after the colliery had been abandoned.
