Garstang and Catterall

During the Covid-19 lockdown railway outings were curtailed, but occasionally the daily permitted exercise walk coincided with an interesting movement through Garstang or Woodacre. This NRMT train, from Derby to Carlisle on 14th April 2020, was one example. It is pictured here passing the point where the old Knott End line came in to run parallel to the WCML down to Garstang and Catterall station through the single arch bridge, which is one of two that still span the old trackbed. 37423 was in charge with 37424 (37558) on the rear.
