Bandon High Level Station looking east towards Cork on 17th June 2020. The CB&SCR reached Bandon in 1849 and originally terminated at a low level station. With the subsequent extensions westwards to the line, a new high level station was opened in 1894. It survives today as County Council offices although the course of the line through the town on embankments and bridges has largely been obliterated with just a handful of bridge abutments surviving. The station closed, with the rest of the system, on 31st March 1961 although track lifting operations continued for several years afterwards.
