Lea Road Watertroughs

A new bridge, the Lea Viaduct, is taking shape between Lea Road and Salwick, to carry the new Preston Western Distributor road over the Blackpool railway and the Lancaster Canal. This evening view, of part of the work site on 13th July 2020, looks south from the diverted canal towpath as a Class 319 EMU passes heading for Blackpool North. The road is scheduled to open in 2023, by which time the old 319s will probably have finished on Northern services.
