Niddrie South Junction

Grab shot from a Waverley - Newcraighall train crossing a bridge on the approach to Niddrie South Junction (100m to the left) on 9 August 2013. View is west, with the roof of the Premier Inn on Newcraighall Road visible top left. Below the bridge is the trackbed of the freight only line that ran from Niddrie West via Wanton Walls to reach the ECML at Monktonhall Junction (see image 4546). The bridge is no more, the cutting has been partially infilled and the fields behind the camera now form part of the Newcraighall Village housing development (see image 64993).
