Balshaw Lane Junction
Bi-mode training runs between Springs Branch, Wigan and Blackpool North are taking place with the Class 769 multiple units. There are two return paths in the system for Tuesday, Thursday and Saturdays but sometimes these are canceled. On the afternoon of 21 November 2020 769450 was out on the 5Z52 path and is seen at Balshaw Lane. The schedules suggest that they would start from the depot on diesel and change to OHLE at Wigan North Western but on this run the unit was still on diesel, only indicated by the fact the pantograph was down.
