Blackrod
An Edinburgh to Manchester Airport EMU hurries through Blackrod on a sunny 19th April 2021. The old goods shed continues in commercial use long after closure to rail traffic. The Horwich branch originally formed a triangle of lines here from either side of the station. Electrification saw the station footbridge 27961 removed and the platforms extended but the line now has to be crossed at a nearby road bridge.
