A Hitachi unit heads North past the village of Blackhall Colliery, approaching the reopened Horden station. The train is about to cross the line of the former coal waste conveyor which was used for disposal purposes in the climax of the classic British gangster film 'Get Carter'. What was then a very bleak beach is now a delightful spot for a picnic. (See image 41182).
