The westernmost section of the former Methil, future Levenmouth, line is still in good order thanks to use from 2012 to around 2015 by coal trains from the Earlseat opencast site. This view looks towards Thornton North Junction from Double Dykes level crossing on 31st August 2021. The Earlseat Loading Pad was just behind the camera and the survival of this track should assist with relaying the branch.
