Earlestown

For a time, Northern ran some direct trains between Lime Street and Bank Quay and reinstated Platform 3 at Earlestown for them (31359). The line was later electrified but those passenger trains no longer run and the chord between West and South Junctions has reverted to mainly freight use. There is however one passenger train, from Lime Street to Ellesmere Port, that runs this way leaving Liverpool at 0510hrs. This view looks towards the west junction on 22nd February 2023 as a TPE 802 passes heading for Manchester. The 1830 station building can be seen.
