The Forfar and Brechin Railway approaches the western edge of Brechin in this view. Montrose Basin can be seen distantly top right. The line met and ran parallel with the Edzell branch to reach Forfar North Junction. The Edzel branch ran off to the left on the other side of the A90 in this view.
