Kirkby
777142 approaches Kirkby heading for Liverpool Central on 18th October 2023. It is running on battery power alongside the platform used by Northern trains from Wigan Wallgate until Merseyrail extended to the new station at Headbolt Lane. This can just be seen in the distance. There is a set of points just beyond the old platform and then two lines, over half a mile long, into the Headbolt Lane platforms 1 and 2.
