A cyclist pedals through the site of Whelley station, on the Whelley Loop greenway, on 10th January 2024. The station building was sited in the walled patch of land on the left side of the track, and remained in use as a house for about a hundred years after it closed. As it was only open to passengers for two months in 1872, the stairs on the right will not have seen much use until the line closed and became accessible to the public. What would a ticket from Whelley be worth at auction today?
