New Mills Central
This viaduct carries the railway from New Mills Central to Chinley over the River Sett. Just behind the camera is its confluence with the River Goyt. No trains were running over the bridge on this wet day in May 2024 as the embankment above the Goyt, to the west of the station, was under repair with trains from Manchester terminating at New Mills, returning wrong line as far as Marple, and a bus connection on to Chinley.
