Diggle Watertroughs
With the only level section of track on the Standedge route being inside the tunnels, that is where the Diggle water troughs were sited. In this June 2024 view over the west portal of the still operational double track tunnel the old water tank that supplied four troughs can be seen. The yellow board just visible in the foliage sits above the two disused single track tunnel portals.
