Thornton-in-Craven

This bridge at Thornton-in-Craven did not carry the Colne to Skipton line, which closed in 1970, but a branch from that to Thornton Quarry. This closed around the 1920s but despite that there are substantial remains. Just to the left of this bridge over Old Road the trackbed enters a tunnel 88627 into the quarry itself. To the right, a short distance away, is the site of the old exchange sidings.
