Sowerby Bridge

The row of fifteen coal drops at Sowerby Bridge were in use from 1875 for around one hundred years. They are now a listed structure, seen here from the station approach road. The tracks at the top ran on timbers, which have now been cleared away. To the right of the drops two sets of buffers are still in situ, in a now wooded area alongside the station car park. 29th June 2024.
