The interior of NER clerestory composite No. 818 is also in immaculate condition. Bearing in mind that from 1949 this coach was used by miners travelling to and from Ashington Colliery, the upholstery and panelling of this First Class compartment is a tribute to the volunteer restorers. Seen at the Stainmore Railway, Kirkby Stephen East, in August 2024.
