Walthamstow Central

Walthamstow Central, looking towards Chingford, at 15.06 on Saturday, 5th October 2024. This station was opened by the GER in 1870 as Hoe Street and renamed in 1968 when it became the terminus of the LU Victoria Line. The 1870 station became part of the London Overground in 2015. Subways, escalators and lifts connect these platforms to the Victoria Line and also a major bus station across the road (left of photo), built on the site of a former recreation ground. There is also now a pedestrian walkway to Walthamstow Queens Road on the Gospel Oak to Barking Riverside line.
