Guide Bridge
View from BR Scottish Region's June 1968 'Grand Rail Tour number 5' at Guide Bridge East Junction. The tour had a rather splendid itinerary. Diesel hauled from Edinburgh to Carnforth via Stirling, Beattock and Shap, Britannia Pacific 70013 'Oliver Cromwell' in charge on the Carnforth-Guide Bridge and Guide Bridge-Hellifield stages, E26052 from Guide Bridge over the Woodhead route to Sheffield Victoria and back, diesel hauled return from Hellifield to Edinburgh via Ais Gill, Dumfries and Stirling.
