Bredbury

The lines around Bredbury in the 1950s. Top left to bottom right is the surviving Manchester to Sheffield route, although express trains now run via Stockport. North from Romiley is the Hyde Loop, served by Rose Hill trains. Branching from Woodley was the link to Godley Junction on the Woodhead route, now a public greenway. South west from Woodley was the line through Stockport Tiviot Dale, also linked from Romiley but closed and lifted after the Woodhead route. A stub to the Bredbury stone (A) and waste (B) terminals remains in use in 2024. Added by Mark Bartlett.
