Queen Elizabeth II Bridge

View from the front of a Tyne & Wear Metro unit to South Shields, just emerged from tunnel and crossing the bridge over the River Tyne in Newcastle city centre, from north to south at 15.11 on Monday, 16th December 2024. Once across, the train will return to tunnel for the short run through Gateshead station before emerging again on the approach to Gateshead Stadium. Forward facing views will be lost forever, alas, once all the new 555 units have entered service and the old units retired so this is probably the last time I will ever be able to get views like this.
