Middleton Junction
Little remains of the short Middleton branch line, which ran north westwards for just over a mile from Middleton Junction but closed to passengers in 1964 and goods traffic the following year. At the junction end of the line an area of public greenspace marks the route and this filled in bridge still connects the two halves of Church Road. The parapet has been lowered on the Middleton side in this December 2024 view.
