Bitumen tanks to store. Colas 56049 'Robin of Templecombe 1938-2013' passing Appleby on 20th January 2025, working the 1124hrs Colas Ribble Rail to Eastriggs MOD with 12 discharged ICA tank wagons. Following the end of the Preston bitumen flow, the tanks were thoroughly cleaned at Ribble Rail before moving for storage. Prior to working this train, 56049 brought the second set of tanks from Haverton to Preston for cleaning before they are stored. The former MOD site at Eastriggs is being used more as other storage facilities around the country fill up - definitely a sign of the times.
