Cliburn lies halfway between Appleby and Penrith on the Eden Valley Railway and the site of the former station has seen dramatic redevelopment in recent years. The station was closed in 1956, six years before the line itself, but almost 70 years on the site is still a hive of activity. The station building has been redeveloped into a private residence but there is also a small caravan park on the site, just to the right of the picture. The signal box, see image 91859 and weigh house are available to rent out for holiday accommodation.
