Cliburn

The signal box at Cliburn, halfway between Appleby and Penrith on the Eden Valley Railway, closed with the line in 1962. The box controlled the level crossing and access to the adjacent goods yard but has been renovated in recent years and now forms part of Cliburn Station Holiday Accommodation. The old station building has been redeveloped into a private residence, see image 91848, but there is also a small static caravan park on the site, just to the right of the picture.
