Exterior of West Brompton station, LU District Line, on 17th February 2025. This was opened by the Metropolitan District Railway on 12th April 1869, alongside that on the West London Extension Railway that had opened on 1st September 1866. Complete separation prevailed, however; the idea for a physical connection here to allow LSWR trains to run over the District to Mansion House never happened. The ex-WLER station was closed with the line by the LMSR on 21st October 1940 but the line reopened in 1994 and a new West Brompton station on the site of the old was opened on 1st June 1999.
