Lancaster Quay

This is the point where the spur from the Glasson Dock branch ran on to Lancaster Quay and also accessed the Nairn-Williamson factory. In 2010 I photographed this spot just before the factory was finally demolished - see image 29233. All trace of the railway has gone now, apart from a section of tree covered low embankment, but this footpath and cycle route still follows the line of the quayside spur to access the old railway route.
