Buxton

DB 66134 is dead in tow on the rear of a train of empties from Ashburys to Dowlow Briggs Sidings as the head of the train joins the Hindlow Branch at Buxton Signal Box. The Up Relief Sidings in the foreground are level at this point, accentuating the steep gradient on the line from Whaley Bridge, used exclusively by passenger trains with this one daily exception. The GBRf van by the sidings is used by a travelling shunter and indicates a train is expected. That loco will run round after arriving over the conventional freight route via Peak Forest.
