Bathgate Yard

In a shot believed to date from 27th October 1974 a Glasgow Queen St to Edinburgh working, diverted via Airdrie, passes through what was then the extensive yard at Bathgate. In the background can be seen the former MPD (64F), which dated from 1954, and Bathgate Central Junction Signal Box. The coal yard appears to still be busy and a couple of locomotives are stabled over the weekend nearby. Quite a number of wagons occupy the sidings but I wonder how many were stored?
