Staple Hill Tunnel

Staple Hill Tunnel is 515 yards long and carried the former Midland Railway Mangotsfield and Bath branch line under Staple Hill. Following closure in 1971, the line has been converted to the Bristol and Bath Railway Path with the north side of the tunnel tarmaced for bicycles. In 2015, the tunnel received £80,000 worth of improvements, with the arch repointed and ventilation shafts restored.
