Drimoleague: A replica station sign at Drimoleague, junction of the CB&SCR lines to Bantry and Skibbereen. The line to Skibbereen opened through Drimoleague in 1877 as part of the Ilen Valley Railway which subsequently became part of the CB&SCR system. The original station at Drimoleague was relocated slightly to the east in 1899 a few years after the line to Bantry was opened between 1881 and 1892. The sign stands around where the original station was sited. Drimoleague closed in 1961.

Oubeck Loops: 60028, from DC Rail but in Cappagh livery, works a long train of box wagons north approaching Lancaster on 19th April 2021. These were being taken from Derby Chaddesden to Kingmoor. This view from Burrow Heights is a new vantage point (for me) but I have only discovered it as the fields behind the train are about to be built on.

Port Edgar Harbour: Rails that once served the former Royal Naval establishment at Port Edgar are still embedded in the roads and parking areas and likely to be so for some time.

Rosewell and Hawthornden: Recent clearance of vegetation at Rosewell, along part of what is now the Penicuik & Dalkeith Railway Walk, has resulted in the reappearance of the old platform faces. This is a view from the north east corner of the site on 18 March 2021 looking back towards the junction with the Penicuik branch. The passing truck is westbound along the A6094 which now bypasses the village.

Upper Greenock: Clayton D8524 leaving Upper Greenock on 13 August 1964 with the 5.13pm service to Wemyss Bay. This was the extent of the double track from Port Glasgow, the line to the right being a siding.

Finsbury Park: These early fluorescent-lit name signs (or lettered lamps) seem to have been confined to Ex-LNER stations, though I believe they were BR era. LNER used Gill Sans typeface too, but not for name signs. They were suspended under canopies. Here Finsbury Park (or Krapy Rubsnif, of course) is seen not at home in N4 but at my home in EH3.

Choppington: UK Railtours' excursion from King's Cross passing the site of Choppington station on the freight-only line from Morpeth to Bedlington in Northumberland, on 7th April 2018. This line and demolished station closed to passengers on 3rd April 1950. Although reopening of the Ashington line, including Bedlington station, is now set to go ahead, the line through Choppington is not currently being considered for reopening to passengers.
