Castle Kennedy: View looking west at Castle Kennedy's goods yard in 1997. The passenger station was behind the camera. The depot buildings shown here were probably associated with the nearby Castle Kennedy Airfield. The goods yard has since been obliterated by house building.

High Street Kensington: Entrance to High Street Kensington station on 21st March 2021. Passengers pass through a delightful arcade of shops before actually arriving at the ticket hall. This station was opened by the Metropolitan Railway from Praed Street junction, west of Edgware Road to South Kensington, on 1st October 1868 but for very many decades now has been served by the Circle Line and the Edgware Road to Wimbledon stretch of the District Line. The Metropolitan District Railway, a separate concern, made an end-on junction with this line at South Kensington.

Bedlington: UK Railtours' excursion from Kings Cross on 7th April 2018 has just come off the freight only line from Morpeth, closed to passengers on 3rd April 1950, and has joined the also currently freight-only Ashington line passing the currently disused Bedlington station, closed with the line on 2nd November 1964. However, after years of talk and no action, funding for the long awaited reopening to passengers of the Ashington line was granted in January 2021 and will see Bedlington reopened - and not before time too. However, the project does not include reopening to passengers of the Morpeth to Bedlington line that this tour has just visited.

Stirling: A Dunblane service calls at Stirling in June 1999. As it is a Class 156 rather than a 150 it was more likely to have come from Glasgow than Edinburgh. Some years later the footbridge in the background was to be jacked up slightly to provide enough clearance for electrification.
