Davidson's Mains Goods Junction: The walkable trackbed on the eastern approach to Dav(e)y Mains follows the way to the goods station; the passenger line was in the embankment to the right and the station was on the other side of Cramond Road South. This bit hasn't been surfaced and ballast is still visible as are, with imagination perhaps, impressions of sleepers.

Bedlington: Having reversed at Newsham, UK Railtours' excursion is now returning north to North Blyth, seen here on Bedlington level crossing and about to again pass through the disused station, closed on 2nd November 1964, in pouring rain on 7th April 2018. Bedlington is due for reopening now that funding for the resumption of passenger services on the line to Ashington was at long last granted in January 2021.

Stonehaven: It would have been difficult to concentrate on your drive at Stonehaven golf course's sixteenth, with Ferryhill Black 5 45162 blasting past on the final leg of its run to Aberdeen. This was a summer Saturday relief from Glasgow on 1st August 1964.

Bantry: A view westwards into the ruined former single road engine shed at Bantry which has somehow managed to survive the redevelopment of the former station site and stands forlornly in a supermarket car park. The steel girders over the shed entrance supported a water tank. The line to Bantry closed in 1961.

Sheriffhall City Bypass Overbridge: ScotRail 170396 forming the 0924 Edinburgh - Tweedbank, approaching the single line section at Kings Gate on 9 April 2021. Drivers using the Edinburgh City Bypass (especially the Sheriffhall Roundabout) were still enjoying a 'Covid lockdown bonus' judging by traffic volumes that morning.

Edinburgh Park: A Class 385, from Dunblane perhaps, reaches the city proper at Edinburgh Park on 14 April 2021. Office development in Edinburgh Park itself advances southwards and could well reach the station by the end of the century.
