Carron Water Bridge [West Carmont]: Network Rail have now fitted these access stairs at Bridge 325 near Carmont, presumably to allow easier inspection of this line following the 2020 derailment. The photo also shows the extent of the new drainage installed.
Greenock (Lynedoch): Ex-LMS 4F 0-6-0 no 44189 calls at Lynedoch station on Saturday 2 August 1958 with the 3.05pm service from St Enoch. The train is destined for Princes Pier (see [[75603]]).
Seafield Level Crossing: Those familiar with this spot but may notice something different; the disused footbridge has been taken away very recently along with surrounding vegetation (compare image [[73537]]). The footbridge was blocked off to pedestrians some years ago; perhaps this was for safety reasons but it was hardly needed anyway.
Balmanno Signal Box: The view south along what was the Glenfarg route (now M90) looking towards the site of Balmanno Signal box. The box was on the west (right) side of the motorway on the curve.
Hamilton Central: Quarry Street Bridge, which crosses the railway at the Motherwell end of Hamilton Central station, is to receive attention.
Knightsbridge: Westbound refurbished LUL 1973 stock train on Piccadilly Line departing from Knightsbridge on 21st March 2021.
Hamilton Central: Quarry Street Bridge, which crosses the railway at the Motherwell end of Hamilton Central station, is to receive attention.
Lower Cullernie Level Crossing: Lower Cullernie Level Crossing seen from the road. The view is north towards Alturlie Point.
Bedlington Viaduct: View from UK Railtours excursion, making its way north from Newsham to North Blyth, crossing Bedlington Viaduct over the River Blyth in Northumberland, looking east, during pouring rain on 7th April 2018. Closed to passengers in 1964, this line has finally been granted funding that will see its reopening from Newcastle to Ashington.
Mallaig: Looking from the end of the platform at Mallaig in 1974, with BRCW Class 27s coupling up to their railtour stock.
Bantry: The former station site at Bantry is now covered by a road and a Supervalu supermarket. However, remarkably, the ruined former single road engine shed survives in the supermarket car park. I can only presume that the remains are a protected structure although I have been unable to establish this. A small turntable stood directly in front of the shed. The line to Bantry was opened in stages, first to Hill Top station from 1881 and then to the final Bantry station site which was behind photographer in 1892.
Garstang and Catterall: I always thought that this bridge, where the old Knott End line left the Lancaster and Preston Junction, was in Garstang but according to recently affixed Network Rail signs I may have been wrong all this time. Colas 70815 heads north with the Chirk to Carlisle log empties on 23rd April 2021. (Error reported to Network Rail but apparently I am wrong and the computer is right - this is Salwick!).
Warcop: Scene at the Eden Valley Railway Centre, Warcop, in July 2012. On the far side of the fence is former South West Trains 4-CEP EMU set 2315, with Hunslet 0-4-0DM ND3815 (2389/1941) standing on the right.
