This railway runs from Newsham, south of Blyth, to Bedlington. Today it carries freight only. The line crosses the substantial Bedlington Viaduct. The railway was opened by the Bedlington Coal Company. The line was bought by the Blyth and Tyne Railway who extended it on to Morpeth and Newbiggin.

This was a three platform junction station, with two platforms on the line from Newcastle northwards to Bedlington (opened 1850) and one, on the east side, for the Blyth branch (1846).

More detailsThis double track iron viaduct over the River Blyth is south of the former Bedlington station on the still open Blyth and Tyne Railway network. The present bridge dates from 1930, replacing an original timber from 1850.

This is a closed station on an open line. It was located in Sleekburn, north east of Bedlington itself. The station building and platform remain. Two signal boxes also remain, at the level crossing to the north and south of the former station.
