Canonbury: 90005 leads 90006 on 4L92, the 0210 Trafford Park to Felixstowe, through Canonbury on 11th January 2024. The light is poor, the sun low and lots of shadows this time of year. A busy line, lots of train movements with a heavy pasenger service and thus the freight crawls along this stretch.

Whelley Viaduct: Despite having twelve brick arches and seven steel spans the Whelley Viaduct is known locally as Twenty Bridges. It took the Whelley Loop across the Douglas Valley to link back into the WCML at Standish but closed to diverted passenger trains when electrification was completed around 1973, and to goods in 1976. It is an impressive structure but closed off and crumbling in places.

Prize Length [Arnbog]: View east at Arnbog, which was a Prize Length (complete with sign which continued to declare this right up to closure). The view looks east (towards a large manure pile where today a ploughed out section continues right through to Eassie).
