Cameron Bridge [1st]: 158 740 passes the site of Cameron Bridge 1st station with a route learner to Glenrothes with Thornton.
Leven: 158 740 and 158 704 lay over at Leven between crew training runs. The new station building starts to take shape in the background.
Insch: Panoramic view of Insch station looking west and east, but, in particular, showing the main building.
Crugwallins Works: 66176 crossing the open crosing at Lanjeth, with clay from Kernick Driers bound for Fowey in December 2014. Lanjeth is not far from Crugwallins. This is what I and others call 'clay country'. It is very quiet railway wise in 2024 compared to 20 years ago. Less clay is shipped now via the port of Fowey.
Hindley: The very long walkway at Deep Pit footbridge, viewed from the top of the south side ramp in January 2024. On the north side of the single span is a an approach path made of stone setts on a small embankment. In steam days, with nine tracks underneath, this must have been a tremendous vantage point to watch passing trains. Today it is almost entirely the various classes of Northern multiple units on the two surviving tracks, albeit there are eight trains an hour.
Rosemill Loop: The Rosemill Loop was on the left, the route of the railway obvious in this view. In the foreground were the original course of the Dundee and Newtyle and the Rose Mill Quarry. Both have been landscaped. The view looks east.
