Bewdley: Hunslet Austerity 193 (works no. 3793 of 1953) shunts the Strathspey Railway's Ivatt 2-6-0 46512 at Bewdley South in 1976. The loco was partially restored here and at Hereford Goods Yard.
Bow [D and CR]: The former station house and approach road at Bow, on the Exeter to Okehampton railway line, in July 2010. The railway has re-opened to passengers since but Bow remains closed and is in private ownership. It is some way from Bow village and one can think of villagers getting drenched when walking from the station to the village in the Devon rain of years ago. The station closed to passengers in June 1972.
Hilton Junction: Hilton Junction signal box, viewed from above the south Moncrieffe tunnel portal, on 27th April 2024.
Workington: Looking towards the main line from the branch to the harbour from the footpath.
Glasgow Central: Hydraulic buffers dating from 1903 at Glasgow Central. The water in these is heated (but someone forgot to turn the heat on after maintenance in the 2010s). Originally the excess water went upwards, but due to electrification now goes down when compressed.
Colyton: The Seaton Tramway offers a three mile jaunt into the countryside at about 5mph but on a nice sunny day it was excellent. This tram is about to run round at the Colyton terminus before returning along East Devon's glorious Axe Valley to Seaton on 1st June 2024.
Loch Dochart [Private]: A view of the trackbed of the C&O at the west end of Loch Iubhair looking east. The railway ran on a shelf cut into the hillside above the road and loch.
Castleton South Junction: 195129, one of Northern's 3-car CAF DMUs, runs alongside the Rochdale Canal between Castleton and Mills Hill. This was a Leeds to Chester service on 17th April 2024.
