Bedford: On my first visit to Bedford (formerly Midland) station in about ten years, they kindly released this freight train early so I could watch it leave before I caught my return train. 6D17 from Mountsorrel to Elstow was headed by a rather rusty 66619. The wagons were heavily graffitied, but at least the replacement driver looked smart.

Aviemore: Autumn colours are prominent at Aviemore in October 2013 as 66023 awaits clearance to head north with a departmental working bound for Inverness.

Eastleigh: Rail Support Services 08863 moving ballast trains around Eastleigh East Yard on 10th July 2024.

Peak Forest: 37676, the Peak Forest banker and pilot loco, seen stabled at Peak Forest on 20th September 1991. Former tops number 37126 before refurbishment as 37676.

Lingwood: All quiet at Lingwood station, on the single track line between Brundall and Acle, on 14th July 2024. This view from the nearby level crossing towards Norwich. The village was also deserted at this time but soon came alive when the Euros Football Final concluded shortly afterwards.

Acharn Siding: This telegraph pole still stands by the trackbed near the Acharn Biomass Works, about half a mile south west of Acharn Siding. The view looks towards Acharn and Killin.

Eastfield Shed: A rather grimy J35 0-6-0 No 64527 is at Eastfield Shed on 27 April 1963, and is facing a rather cleaner Austerity 2-8-0, fresh off Cowlairs Works.

Polmont: 385011 and 033 arrive at Polmont with the 14.54 from Dunblane to Edinburgh on 17 July 2024.
