Penicuik [2nd]: Looking over the former Penicuik goods yard, closed on 27 March 1967 and being cleared in 2003 for housing. The loading bank is on the left and the rectangular shadow in the distance marks where the Bank Mill siding passed under the A701.

Alston: An afternoon working to Haltwhistle awaits departure from Alston in February or March of 1976. Passenger services came to an end later that year on May 3rd, with freight traffic having finished quite some time earlier on 6th September 1965, although the section between Alston and Slaggyford is now operated as a narrow gauge line by the South Tynedale Raailway.
