Castle Yard: Clyde paddle steamer 'Caledonia' during winter overhaul at Lamont's Castle Yard, Port Glasgow, in the 1960s. Gathurst: This stone bridge carries the Wigan to Southport railway over the road by the entrance to the long Gathurst station approach. The pedestrian passageway is normal height at this side but the path rises inside while the roof does not! Station Approach leads to the Wigan platform and car parking. The foot only access to the Southport platform is just beyond the underpass.
