Charing: Main station building on down platform at the delightful ex-LCDR Charing station, Kent, on the Maidstone East line, at 10.45 on Armistice Day, Monday, 11th November 2024 and celebrating its 140th birthday in this year.

Armathwaite: Armathwaite Signalbox cannot be missed thanks to its unusual but authentic bright yellow colour. The current box was built to replace a previous box lost to fire in the 1890s. It was closed in January 1983 before being leased to the Friends of the Settle and Carlisle in 1992 and is currently maintained by volunteers. When I visited in November 2024 it had not long celebrated its 125th anniversary.

Wilderspool: Looking east from the Wilderspool Road bridge in Warrington, over the site of the temporary Wilderspool station, in November 2024. This once ran to Stockport and beyond through Lymm, but is now just a run round loop as the Lymm line closed in 1985 and was lifted.

Comrie Viaduct: From this angle the Comrie Viaduct looks pretty much intact. It was quite a long viaduct. From the east end, now a car park, there were two concrete arches, a plate girder over the A85, six concrete arches, a large girder section over the River Earn and a final two concrete arches - the two arches seen here. Nothing else other than these two arches remain.

Whitrope Siding: Restoring railway vehicles in the open at Whitrope can't be much fun. Pacer 142020 has been receiving some attention but the Heritage Centre website states that 142019, on the right, is for spares and for storing. In this November 2024 view, prototype Railbus RB004 can be seen behind 142019 but is suffering in the harsh weather here.
