Dunfermline [3rd]: Having run round at Townhill, a train of empty HAAs from Longannet PS heads out of Dunfermline for reloading at Hunterston. Behind the gasworks the bridge which carries the railway to Longannet can be seen crossing the road with Charleston Junction hidden behind the modern brick structure.
Paddington: View of the former road entrance to Paddington in Praed Street on 2nd December 2024. I well recall the taxis and the parcel vans racing down here, especially late at night when the newspapers were delivered from Fleet Street.
Flowery Field: 323234 pulls away from the 1985 built station at Flowery Field, a residential district of Hyde, on 30th October 2024. This station, on the Hadfield Glossop line, is a short walk from Hyde North station on the Hyde Loop to Romiley.
Craigo: This is a view of the bridge at Craigo which will be demolished and replaced.
Sydenham: Sydenham, south-east London, up platform, as resited slightly to the north in 1982, seen from 378209 with a London Overground service from Highbury & Islington to Crystal Palace, arriving at its penultimate stop at the original down platform at 12.03 on Saturday, 23rd November 2024. This station is one of the original stations opened with the London & Croydon Railway on 5th June 1839, and is now served by National Rail Southern and London Overground trains. The latter began here on 23rd May 2010 when control passed to TfL.
Edinburgh Waverley: Waverley's forgotten face: this is the dropping-off point on Calton Road.
Dalchonzie Platform: A view looking east over the former level crossing at Dalchonzie Platform. The line was to the left of the signal box with the timber platform of the halt on its left. There was a siding too, beyond the signal box. Dalchonzie Siding was the original name of the halt. The walk east to Comrie along the line is fairly difficult with long ploughed out sections, missing bridges and forestry. Going west to St Fillans is considerably easier as there is a small frequently used car park at Dalchonzie and the route is an official footpath.
Huntly: 43132 heads the 13.41 Aberdeen - Inverness as it enters Huntly station on 30th November 2024. The station building dates from 1999 and replaces what was left of the original structure from 1854 when the line opened.
