Hebden Bridge: A long train of empty biomass hoppers, from Drax to Liverpool, hurries through Hebden Bridge on 29th January 2025. 66311 is one of the locos imported by GBRf after working in Europe. It was refurbished and modified to UK standards at Brush Loughborough and released to traffic during 2024.

Buxton: If you like Class 150 Sprinters, I recommend a visit to Buxton. One planned departure, one stabled set, and one recent arrival wait in the station on 30th November 2024. I had to use up a Manchester ticket, bought in error, and very much enjoyed my visit.

Brighouse: Since late 2023, Grand Central have leased two ex-Avanti Class 221 Voyagers to supplement their fleet of Class 180 Adelantes, and more are likely to follow now that Avanti has returned their remaining sets. On 29th January 2025, 221142 was on the 1057hrs Kings Cross to Bradford Interchange service, seen calling at Brighouse.

Pittentian Level Crossing: View looking north west to Crieff. The white crossing cottage at Pittentian can be seen near the centre of the view, with the lines running off to the southern part of Crieff in the distant left. To the right of the cottage the lines diverged. Although the lines have been ploughed through there are still crop marks from the lines crossing the large green field.

Dalgety Bay: It was recently reported that Track Recording Unit 950001, built in 1987, is to be withdrawn. Its tasks will be picked up by recently converted Class 153s. The unique Sprinter nears Dalgety Bay, with a trip from Slateford taking in Longannet, Stirling and Perth on 30th January 2025.
