Emerson Park: Emerson Park, opened in 1909 as Emerson Park Halt on the 1893 LT&SR's Romford to Upminster branch and a detached part of London Overground since 2015, looking towards Upminster at 14.49 on Tuesday, 11th February 2025. It still has a halt-like appearance, despite becoming a 'station' without any upgrading, and it's good to see the delightful wooden umbrella-like canopy has survived.

At that time the connection to serve the Waterloo branch was sited here but as part of the project to redouble the line a few years ago a new connection was provided south of the site of the former station.

Lancaster Quay: This is the point where the spur from the Glasson Dock branch ran on to Lancaster Quay and also accessed the Nairn-Williamson factory. In 2010 I photographed this spot just before the factory was finally demolished - see image [[29233]]. All trace of the railway has gone now, apart from a section of tree covered low embankment, but this footpath and cycle route still follows the line of the quayside spur to access the old railway route.
