Ruabon: Ruabon station opened in 1846, and is now a private house. Should you wish to travel to LLangollen, I recommend the bus stop just outside the station, where you can take a Traws Cymru bus for £1.90 single. Arriva charges £3.40 for the same journey - go figure.

Horden: 142070 was heading from Newcastle to Middlesbrough when photographed in March 2012 passing the site of what became the 2nd. Horden station when it opened in June 2020. The original station, which opened with the line in 1905 and closed to passengers in 1964, was situated on the other side of the bridge from which this shot was taken.

Water of Cruden Viaduct: Looking down on to the surviving piers of the Water of Cruden Viaduct in April 2025. Beyond the viaduct was a large embankment, carrying the line into Cruden Bay station. As can be seen the embankment has completely disappeared, and the cutting behind the camera is now filled in too.
