Sankey Bridges: On an a very dull April day in 2005, 60037 has passed Monks Siding signal box and is heading west to Liverpool Bulk Terminal with empties from Fiddlers Ferry PS, having firstly headed east to run round at Latchford Sidings. In a few minutes it will pass the Power Station which it had left an hour or so earlier. In the background can be seen Warrington Transporter bridge, which closed in 1964.

Liverpool Lime Street [Low Level]: A rather insignificant entrance to Lime Street station on Liverpool's one-way Merseyrail Wirral Line loop, opened in 1977, across the road from the main line station, seen here at 18.36 on Tuesday, 29th April 2025.

Birkenhead Central: 777016, Merseyrail Wirral Line to Liverpool Central at Birkenhead Central, at 12.12 on Wednesday, 30th April 2025. This train was delayed here for a considerable time due to a male passenger on board being taken seriously ill, requiring the attendance of paramedics.

Rowley Regis: Old Hill station has a very small park and ride car park, and is difficult for on street parking. I found a space at Rowley Regis, however, and enjoyed my lunch in a peaceful and pleasant atmosphere. The 14.03 to Kidderminster (right) is crossing the 14.01 to Dorridge. There are loops on both sides of the main line just off the platforms here.

Longhaven: There is little to see of the old station at Longhaven, but Station House on the roadside (left on this picture) marks the location. This April 2025 view is along the trackbed towards Boddam, and the station was by the gorse covered mound with a small goods siding to the right behind Station Farm.

Kingshouse Halt: A little north of Kingshouse Halt the A84 crossed over the railway, crossing from its east side to its west. Nothing remains of the bridge today, the road crosses the trackbed on the level and has been straightened. Between here and the Balquhidder station the footpath follows a different route from the former railway.
